Warehouse Lighting Upgrade

Warehouse Lighting Upgrade

  • Energy Costs Too High?
  • Poor quality lighting?
  • Lights not working?
  • Time to upgrade?

At Matt Browning Electrical, we’re proud to help businesses grow smarter, safer, and more sustainably. A recent project saw us return us to a busy logistics company that was expanding their warehouse capacity in Bracknell, Reading. We were contracted to design, supply, and install an energy-efficient lighting system that would enhance visibility, reduce energy bills, and improve workplace safety.

Energy efficient LED lighting installed to suit new narrow aisle pallet racking at a warehouse in Bracknell near Reading, installed by the commercial electricians at Matt Browning Electrical Contractors. Ansell Tornado LED Lights are mounted on lighting trunking include microwave & daylight sensors and emergency lighting.

Our team of NICEIC approved electricians carried out a complete lighting upgrade across the new warehouse space:

High-Efficiency LED Lighting Installation
We installed Ansell LED Lights throughout the expanded warehouse. These durable, high-output fittings are perfect for industrial environments and come equipped with built-in microwave sensors — ensuring energy is only used when movement is detected in the area.

Emergency Lighting
To maintain the highest standards of workplace safety, the LED lights were equipped to provide open area emergency lighting across the facility. Ensuring safe and compliant lighting levels for evacuation routes in the event of a power failure, offering peace of mind to both employees and visitors.

A Brighter, Smarter Warehouse

Thanks to this upgrade, the client now benefits from better visibility, improved safety, and reduced energy bills — all critical factors as their business continues to grow. It’s a perfect example of how modern electrical solutions can enhance productivity while supporting sustainability.

💡 Can we help you? Want to know more?

Are you looking to reduce energy costs for your warehouse or commercial-industrial building in the Thames Valley region?

As well as being expensive to run, older style lighting technology may offer poor quality light and is often unsuitable for adding automatic controls such as presence / absence detection and daylight sensors. Poor lighting may be impacting your productivity, accuracy, and safety. Ad-hoc maintenance can be expensive and time consuming, and many types of fluorescent and discharge lamps are being phased out for environmental reasons due to the materials used in their manufacture.

The experienced team at Matt Browning Electrical can design, supply, and install a wide range of commercial-industrial lighting from a choice of leading manufacturers to suit every building.

Good quality LED lighting has a long lifespan with great product warranties. Coupled with energy saving controls which can monitor activity in the area and switch off the lights when the area is not in use or there is adequate natural light on a sunny day.

With warehouse and industrial lighting usually installed at high level, we recommend taking a long-term view and doing it right first time. Fitting quality lighting to a good design with clever controls ensures your building stays well-lit whilst reducing your operating costs. We offer fully costed fixed price quotes tailored to your building - with complimentary site surveys for businesses in our area.

Comprehensive lighting design includes projected energy consumption and cost savings with payback estimates.

A refreshed lighting design can take account of your use of the building with a lighting layout to suit. New storage racking, partition walls, and machinery can all be properly illuminated. Our lighting designs also consider the use of the building, with warehouse and storage areas being lit to a lower level than process, inspection, and picking areas.

Our team can also advise and quote for emergency lighting to ensure adequate lighting levels are maintained if normal lighting fails due to a power cut or other emergency. Emergency lighting allows safe evacuation of the building, controlled shut down of plant and high-risk activities, and if required, it can be designed to allow continued occupation of the building for an extended period.

Talking of safety, our initial site survey not only looks at your lighting requirements, it also allows us to design and plan how we will carry out your lighting installation safely. We provide detailed risk assessment and method statements, and our team are fully trained in working at height with PASMA and IPAF accreditations covering use of scaffold towers or mobile elevated work platforms. Need the work done out of hours to minimise disruption? No problem.

At Matt Browning Electrical, our experienced electricians can upgrade old fluorescent lighting in nurseries, schools, colleges, and universities with the latest LED lighting technology - not only improving lighting performance and reducing future maintenance costs, but also delivering significant cost reductions through reduced energy consumption. We were recently asked to upgrade the old fluorescent lighting in classroom and corridor areas in this school building. Our complimentary site survey found many of the fluorescent tubes and control-gear components had failed, and with fluorescent lighting technology being phased out for environmental and energy saving reasons, we provided a fixed price quote for an LED lighting upgrade. We supplied & installed LED lighting from Ansell and low glare lighting from Ovia in classroom areas. With automatic control through occupancy sensors and dimmable controls for the classroom, performance has improved whilst energy costs have reduced.
